Shivers: Intro

The cold wind blew the last of the autumn leaves for the trees, making the pattern of the leaves already on the ground, complete. The bright moon reflected clearly in the puddles of rain, all the stars twinkling in delight in the sky; the sounds of the rain still falling and the thunderclaps sounded through the night sky.  With some flowers still blooming at the middle of April, the start of the winter, it all sounded peaceful, but there was 1 person who didn’t welcome this scene.

She ran to find silence, away from all the cheerful people and feasts and the place she found out will now be home. How could anyone be partying after this? Her life has just been torn to pieces and some people were partying, at her place. Her face was dripping wet of tears and still becoming wetter; her eyes were red and throat sore.

“Whoa now; tears aren’t appropriate” a voice spoke out of the dark. The girl’s face went from pain and misery to shock and pure fury.
“Leave!” she yelled, crying even harder, and threw a rock to where the voice came from.
At first everything was quiet, no trace of the person who spoke, but then she felt someone breathe in her ear; there was a tight grip around her right wrist and something pulled her chin upwards.

“Tut, tut. You never learn, do you?” the same person said; she couldn’t see him, except for 2 angry green eyes staring at her out of the darkness above her.
“What are you talking about?” she asked
“Have I ever told you why you are named Emerald?”
“No. You prefer to terrorise me”

The rain started pouring down again, harder and harder, the pitter-patter of the drops falling on the ground creating silence between the 2. All the leaves swirled through the air, creating a small show; this was mesmerising for Emerald. The smell of the wet ground filled her nostrils, one of her favourite smells, and the faraway smell of toast also hung in the air. For a moment she thought she could just stand there for the rain to wash away all her troubles, but then a reflex kicked in and she just ran; not to a certain point but just to escape.

Finally, after 15 minutes of running, Emerald reached a smell café; with no hesitation she entered, the smell of freshly made coffee pulling her closer. There were only 2 other people there: 1 customer and a waiting, preparing the food and coffee. The place was brightly lit and very welcome after soaking in the rain, but the place’s smells was the extraordinary part; chocolate, cream, coffee, toast, beans cheese; all mixed together.

“Oh, look at you! You’re soaking wet. Let me get you some fresh coffee on the house and then I’ll go get you some towels” the waiter said when Emerald entered. The man spoke with a French accent and had a small moustache but smell even sweeter than the café; he looked more like a butler than a waiter.
“Thank you” Emerald said, sitting at a table as he handed her a cup of coffee and then disappeared to find some towels.

The other customer was an old man, glasses on his nose and a walking stick next to his wheelchair. He had a cup of coffee on his left and was working on his laptop for a long time but then just stared at Emerald.
“What is it?” Emerald asked after being stared at for 3 minutes.
“Aren’t you Elizabeth Mariletta Emilia Ruby Amethyst Liané Diamond?” the old man asked her.
“No, just Emerald”
“The first letters of those names spell ‘Emerald’”
“I’m sure my parents would’ve told me if that was the case.”

He motioned for her to come look at his laptop and so she did, her own face, though 3 years younger, staring back at her from the computer screen. There was a whole article written about her and the man read it out loud:
“‘Elizabeth Mariletta Emilia Ruby Amethyst Liané Diamond, also known as Emerald, graduated from middle school today. There is a lot of mystery regarding this 13 year old girl. Her parents, Queen Eliza and King Renaldo, have never told anyone except dear friends and family about their daughter.’”

“‘They kept the fact that they’re royalty from her. After much investigation we could gather this information.’”
“Wait, I’m not a princess” Emerald said
“If you follow all these links at the bottom of the page you won’t be able to deny it. They have great proof” he replied.

There was silence; Emerald thought about everything, considering it all but then suddenly just jumped up.
“No! This is nonsense! My parents would’ve told me!” Emerald yelled, running out of the café, making her way back to her mansion; when she entered everyone went silent, the party dying down as the guests spotted her one by one.

She started crying again after going through the unfamiliar faces, feeling empty without her parents.
“What? Am I a party killer!? My parents were just murdered a few hours ago and you guys are partying! None of you care! All of you still don’t care!” Emerald yelled at the group, finally letting her anger and frustration flow.
She looked through the group one more time before running up the stairs, feeling all eyes on her.

She ran to her dad’s study, letting the tears flow, and took a deep breath as she opened the door. Everything was like he left it, as if he was still there, working on his latest book. Emerald pictured him walking through the room, pacing, going through the thousands of books in the countless bookshelves. So many of her life’s best moments happened in this room, even her birth, and it only seemed logical that she would seek isolation here.

Emerald sat down on the imported rug in the middle of the room, sitting at the edge of the rug and resting her head on the sofa; she dragged her old teddy, one her dad made himself, onto her lap and clutched her tightly. She cried so much she finally dozed off, her face soaking and the pillows stained of the mascara that smeared from her eyes.

Hours later, not much, she awoke, finding the clock above her dad’s desk stating it to be a minute past midnight. Her eyelids still felt heavy, the sound of the whistling wind outside almost making her fall asleep again. A whispering however made Emerald sit up straight, concentrating on all sounds around her.

Then she heard it; a soft whispering coming from the hall. It was her name that was being whispered.
“Amethyst…Amethyst. Emerald, I need you” the very soft whisper came again.
Instinctively Emerald became scared, pulling her bear closer to her. After a lot more watching and listening she got up, her teddy still tightly against her body.

Slowly she moved closer to the door, one small step after another, and when she reached it she stood there for a while more, stroking the gently carved wood. There was no other light except the light flowing out from the study, and noticing this Emerald grabbed a flashlight.
Elizabeth, Ruby. Come with me” the whisper came again, from the old, rotten steps leading to the attic.

Emerald followed the sound of the whisper, trembling and her face unusually pale; the steps creaked under her feet, the old rotten wood capable of giving way any second. The attic wasn’t much safer than the steps, also made of wood just as old and rotten. The walls were made of stone and one of them collapsed as there was something breathing at the spot. Light streamed in from the opening but where the wall collapsed the floor fell the distance to the first floor, 9 floors away. Emerald peaked into the room; maybe this is what she has been searching for, all her answers. Behind her she heard something lurk, trouble nearing.

Two slimy hands locked on her throat, cold as death and tighter than anything she could think of; this was her end.

The Lavender 100 baby challenge: Baby 1. Mixed up Genes

Hayla couldn't wait to start her challenge; once she set her mind on it and convinced herself of all the positive things, nothing could make her stop. Only a short while after her decision was final she got up and walked to potential baby daddy 1. With every step she took her destiny became clearer, and her goal nearer; the man in front of her kept nodding with a grin as she came closer.
"Hello sir. I am starting a 100 baby challenge and would love if you could be my first baby's dad" Hayla said, not wanting to beat around the bush.
"You mean I'll have a girl as pretty as you along with 1 to 3 miniature yous of my own?" he asked.
"You get a day with me and 1 to 3 'miniature me's', but they have to stay with me, though you can visit. You see, there are rules for this challenge" she replied
"What rules?"
"We can have no romantic relationship, merely friends. Our children must stay with me until they're young adults, but you can come visit. You can't move in with me...basically the only thing you get out of this will be your kid or kids"
"I love kids, so I will still do it. By the way, I'm Bubblegum"
"Then we don't need to waste time. I'm Hayla" Hayla said.
He pulled her into a passionate kiss, and Hayla wished she could only share these special moments with the man she loves, but she would much rather have her 100 babies.
After the kiss they almost immediately called a cab to go to Hayla's home. As they walked to the taxi she couldn't stop thinking about the little life that will soon be growing inside of her. She knew she would love the baby at first sight.
The taxi rushed them to Hayla's 'humble home'. Their first stop was of course the bed. Hayla just gave Bubblegum one look and then they dove into the covers. The process was fast and soon baby 1 was conceived.
Afterwards the 2 young adults gave themselves a little treat.
When Hayla went for a little snack, Bubblegum excitedly called a friend of his, telling him about this beautiful woman who would soon carry his baby.
Not long after, he left as the sun started to set and the sandman was eager to pay him a visit.
A little later that night Hayla discovered her first child-to-be's father left a few seeds at her house and she didn't hesitate to plant them. Gardening was her talent, and soon the small life was in the ground, growing.
"You're just like my baby 1; first in this challenge, first young life" Hayla told the little seed.
All her dreams revolved around the babies. She dreamt about teaching them to walk and talk, feeding their little mouths and watching them sleep sweetly, holding them in her arms for the first time and then having to let them grow when they're grown up. That part would definitely be the hardest.
Hayla felt the first signs of morning sickness, but along with that her sneezing acted up. She couldn't stop sneezing straight, non-stop for 2 minutes.
When her sneezing-fit passed, she ran to the toilet and let out the vomit, but another sneeze cam out, splashing the vom' into her face.
After a quick shower to get the puke off her face, Hayla spent the next half an hour in her small garden with the plants she planted last night. They already sprout, and Hayla wondered how long it would take for her baby to show he or she is there.
Hayla placed an easel outside for her as she found that that's the place she wants to be the most, but every time she made a little mistake Hayla would turn round and look around nervously, scared that someone might have seen.
As she was busy with her second painting the nausea struck her again, and she ran to the bathroom at lightning speed, not throwing up on herself again.
Later that day Hayla called Bubblegum over to the library, saying she has exciting news for him.
As he arrived her noticed she had gained some weight, but had no doubts that it was from pregnancy. He spent a lot of time rubbing and talking to her tummy.
"Hey, the baby just kicked! This baby will certainly be a great soccer player someday" Bubblegum said excitedly, and Hayla just smiled.
When he was done with her tummy her wanted to make out with her, forgetting the rules, but Hayla didn't, and pushed him away.
"Nah-uh. Don't you remember the rules? I will have no romantic relationship with you after the baby is conceived. I need to move on to the next father" Hayla said, and watched as his heart was broken.
"OK, OK. I'm sorry, I forgot" he apologised, and they stayed friends by the end of the outing.
As Hayla left for home, a young man with a baby boy walked into the building. The baby kept looking at her, and Hayla felt proud that she soon would have one of her own.
At home she admired her big tummy with the small baby inside as she felt a pair of hands push against her stomach. She can't wait to hold those hands in hers.
"Will my babies also grow up as fast as you 2? I sure hope not" Hayla cooed to the trees as she watered them the next day.
With the eldest tree she had a big conversation about the little life growing inside her. Of course she knew the plant wouldn't talk back, she still enjoyed its company.
Just when she headed inside she froze right in front her her bedroom door as she flat a sharp pain in her stomach. At first she thought something was wrong, but then realised it was contractions.
In the middle of giving birth her cellphone rang, but she just ignored it as she was in too much pain, though she was too shocked to think about going to the hospital. She didn't think she would survive going through this 100 times.
Just as she was about to collapsed, sparkles appeared and out came a handsome young boy. As she looked at him she knew this would all be worth it. She called her little man Aerius, pronounced Air-ree-uh-s (thanks to Topcrust).
She immediately fed him as he looked peckish and cherished the first time she held him in her arms.
Although she had no idea where the dark skin came from, she loved him to bits and couldn't wait to see how he looks like when he gets older. Her mind was focused on finding her next baby daddy.

I need a baby daddy before I can start the next chapter. Please leave them here or here along with baby names and comments. Thanks for all the feedback on the intro.

The Lavender 100 baby challenge: Intro

Hayla was partying her life away and never actually thought about settling down and having a family...well, maybe she did think about kids. Children were the only thing she loved more above her parents and parting, but she could never dream of retiring to one man, because she is the kind of girl that gets bored with a guy after 2 days, and the trail of broken hearts she left as a teen proved it.

Above just not wanting to marry Hayla is just really scared she might pass down the family's curse, as she calls it, to her kids. She calls it the family's curse because 99% of her family has a disease, whether it be fatal or just a minor case of easily getting sick. She inherited hay fever from her grandfather, and a bad case of it by that. At any time she would sneeze millions of snot rockets into the air, massive ones for everyone to see and...feel.

With such a big decision to make between her life's dream and the welfare of kids, she would often wake up in the middle of the night in cold sweat, or suddenly break out in an attack at home from being driven mad by this.

One day when she was out at the park to seek peace and help with the decision of her life, she saw the most interesting man sitting right in front of her. She realised that everyone has flaws, but that it's how you can use them to your advantage that makes you strong. Hayla had made up her mind; she wanted to show the world that she can lift up her head and achieve her goal no matter what. She wanted to show the world the way the flaws should be dealt with, and decided the 100 baby challenge is for her, to pass down everything she has to 100 kids and help them deal with their flaw, showing the world the right way to do it. To her great pleasure, she could start immediately as she decided this man in front of her will be baby daddy #1.

Thanks for reading! I will need baby names and daddies for the challenge. Please leave them here or on this forum, along with comments. They will make my day! I hope you enjoyed this small introduction. I might make a separate blog for this later on.
